Dukeshouse Wood
Dukeshouse Wood is Kingswood’s newest centre opening in 2008 located in
breathtaking countryside just outside of Hexham in Northumberland. Full
of Northern charm and pure adrenalin filled activities you’ll very
quickly feel right at home if adventure is your thing! We offer the
full Kingswood product range to the whole Kingswood age range (7-17yrs)!
We specialise in Ropes and have a brand spanking new Tower which
dominates the centre accommodating a Zip Wire, 2 Climbing Walls and 2
Abseiling Walls. We also have an amazing High Ropes course, Archery
Range, Fencing Salon… the list goes on. There’s loads of exciting
changes continuing to take place and 2009 promises to be a very exciting
year for the centre with our All-weather Activity Barn being built. Our
centre is home to Hexham Football Club where we have 2 training pitches
and a brand new synthetic pitch! We never say no to a challenge and as
such welcome ICT, Environmental, Foreign and Activity groups through our
door – a multitude of training opportunities await you to be able to
cope with all of them!
Our staff team is big enough to have a great mix of personalities and fun, but small enough to still feel like one big, happy family. Staff are accommodated on site, making it handy to escape on your time off with Hexham just a short stroll down the hill to local pubs and shops (though beware of the walk back up the hill!). On your days off we are perfectly located with the vibrant and cosmopolitan Newcastle just a 30 minute train ride away with Cocktail Bars, Jazz Clubs, Comedy Clubs, Night Clubs and ‘Just-About-Any-Kind-of-Club’ a short stroll from Central Station. Or why not get yourself lost in one of Europe’s biggest shopping malls at the Metro Centre? If you’re more at home in a pair of Wellies or Climbing boots Dukeshouse Wood is located just opposite the Centre and is full of paths to explore and some great places to go climbing. History Buffs will be even more at home as we’re right in the heart of Hadrian’s Wall County! What more could anyone ask for?!
